To register the  importing automobile parts  entity as a sole owner or partnership, you will need to register the business name with a DBA Doing business As certificate also called a Trade Name Registration.You need a seller's  permit to buy   importing automobile parts  items wholesale and sell them in the store or online from home.  In addition, you need a trade  name.  For example, if the name is "Accessories Treasure Boutique," that is a trade name and needs to be registested.  In addition, you need a buisness license and if hiring employees, a state and a federal employer tax id number.  You can obtain all these here online.   Just click on "Get Trade Name," and then submit your business info. Then select state and then select the licenses and tax ids you need
 
Automotive Parts and Accessories



  Automotive Parts and Accessories is a business for profit and requires all licensing as any other business.  To get the licensing, you first need to select the type of tax entity. Then you will need to get at least a couple of the licenses for businesses. 

  There are four major tax entities: A sole owner, a partnership, an LLC, and corporation.  There are also 4 major licenses: 1) a business  license, 2) a sellers permit, 3) a federal tax ID number, and 4) a state employer number.  

  To register the Automotive Parts and Accessories entity as a sole owner or partnership, you will need to register the business name with a DBA Doing business As certificate also called a Trade Name Registration.  So, sole owners and partnerships need to register the business name while LLCs and corporation do not need it unless doing business with a name other than their legal name. For example, microsoft corporation does not need to register the name "microsoft," but if it does busines with a different name as for instance "ABC Developer Services," Microsoft will have to register that name with a Trade Name under the Microsoft Corporation as the entitiy using the trade name, namely the name "ABC Developer Services". 

  After that, you will need to get an Automotive Parts and Accessories sellers permit because selling auto parts makes the sale a sales taxable event and you need to collect taxes so you will need to obtain a sellers permit tax ID to collect and pay the state.   In addition, all businesses must obtain a business license. A business license is required by all businesses. It is a genera business flat tax that is based mostly on your gross annual receipts. The tax ranges from $0 to about $50 but it could be more. 

  Furthermore, all Automotive Parts and Accessories businesses need a federal tax ID number to be used as the business tax ID.  Sole owners do not have to get it but they optionally can -- otherwise they will have to use their own social security number as the business tax ID.  Finally, employers need a state identification employer number and a federal tax ID EIN.
