7 You need a trade business license and a trade name DBA Doing Business As Trade Name Certificate also called a fictitious business name, an assumed business name or a trade firm name but it is just a trade business name registration certificate that all businesses that use a trade name must file. A dba stands for Doing Business As, and it is the registration of your trade name if you have one. You are required to register your trade name within 30 days of starting your business. Instead of registering a dba, you can simply form an llc or corporation and it will have the same effect, namely register your business name. You could incorporate or form an LLC instead of filing a trade name certificate.

Registering Your Own Small New Business
